Today, I was at Elforoteo having a coffee with Sofi. We engaged in a conversation about the things that happened to us in 2024 regarding work, travels, friendships and some random things. She shared with me what happened to her and I want to share with you some of the things that happened to me:
Work
Pretty much my work has been stable, at least it was all going in the same field: My hiking tours and dance experiences with Alalibre, plus many private classes everywhere. I got some new venues to teach like in Cloud 9 and La Catrina Cantina. I got some occasional dance shows and I worked for some time also at Elforoteo. I feel grateful for everybody who has recommended my job or hired me to work for them. Last week I got really busy and I hope that continues for the following year.
Travels
As I wrote it before in this blog, I did a birthday trip to Guadalajara to attend a dance congress and to visit some friends such as Saraí, Gaby Nuñez and Sujel. I also had a family trip to Mascota and to San Sebastian. Plus, I went with my mom to visit Perú for the first time and I did a solo trip to Argentina. I was supposed to have a work trip with my dancemate Francia to Canada to perform for a wedding, but we were unable to go. I hope I can do at least one international trip on the following year.
Friendships
I hope blessed to have met so many wonderful people this year. I felt some people did walked away from me to follow their own path and I wish them the best and I feel very grateful for the beautiful new people in my life, plus the old folks and family still with me.
Random things
Among the random things happening this year, I started to take singing lessons for the first time in my life with the amazing teacher Diego. Eventually he had to quit the music school where he was teaching and I had to give up my career as a karaoke singer. During the middle of the year, I joined yoga classes with teacher Shirley and then I joined for the first time in my life, acroyoga lessons. And right before the year was ending, I joined also fire dance lessons with teacher Gaby. In that field and thanks to my martial arts training with nunchuks and boo’s and to my dance training, I think I have been doing a good job.
Among other random things, this year I dressed myself for the first time as Ken from Barbie and as Barney Rubble from the Flinstones. It was a fun experience.
Let me leave you with a set of pictures of things and people happening this year:
My professional recommendation for this 2025 is to keep dancing.
“Oye, abre los ojos, mira hacia arriba y disfruta las cosas buenas que tiene la vida“
(Listen, open the eyes, look up and enjoy the good things that life has to offer). (Cumbia song by La Sonora Dinamita)
Happy New year everybody!
