Malala wins the Nobel
Malala Yousafzai
“One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.”
“Un niño, un maestro, un libro, una pluma, pueden cambiar al mundo.”
Malala Yousafzai, age 17th, has become the first Pakistani to win a Nobel Prize of anything and the youngest person in the world to receive one.
She became famous after writing anonimously on a blog about the athrocities committed by the Talibans while they occupied the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa valley where she lived with her parents who where in charge of several schools. The BBC republished her blog and helped her. After the Talibans left, she was nearly killed by a lonely gunman. The Pakistan government sent her to UK because the Talibans put a price on her head.
In 2013 she did a public petition to the UN demanding for 100% access to education for childrens by 2015. Following this, Pakistan wrote it’s first education bill.
On October the 10th, 2014: she was announced as winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. Congratulations Malala!
