Si están flojeando en casa y tienen Netflix, haganse un favor y veanla. Está tan bien retratado el drama y la vida post guerra en Japón que a veces te olvidas que estás viendo una película de Godzilla. La historia del piloto Kamikaze que desertó, su conflicto moral interno y sus ganas de rehacer su vida y redimirse es muy buena por si sóla. Pero luego sale Godzilla y tremendo monstruo te recuerda con fuerza que él es el protagonista de la película. Mis papás no son muy de películas de Kaijus Japoneses y les encantó. Y eso que esta película costo 100 veces menos que una película de ficción promedio de Hollywood.
If you’re lazing around at home and have Netflix, do yourself a favor and watch it. The drama and post-war life in Japan is so well portrayed that sometimes you forget you’re watching a Godzilla movie. The story of a Kamikaze pilot that ran away, his constant moral conflict and his desire to restart a life again and win back his honor is very good by itself. But then Godzilla comes out s the tremendous monster he is and reminds you forcefully that he is the protagonist of the film. My parents are not much into Japanese Kaiju movies but they loved it. And the budget of this movie was 100 times less than the average fiction Hollywood movie.
