We all have friends who passionately stand for a cause. They even leave their rest for later or stop doing things they have to do in order to work for that cause. I have friend like that too! I have a friend Moni: She posts and motivates her friends to try the vegan lifestyle. Another friend, Corinne: She tries to make people get aware and interested in the artistic work of women who paint, write, compose and that have been minimized by history. Another friend, Silvia: She invites people to join protesting marches against corrupt politicians or against social injustices. I can list more friends as well, but unfortunately there are not that many.

Todos tenemos amigos que defienden con pasión una causa. Inclusive dejan de descansar o hacer cosas que tienen que hacer para poder trabajar por esa causa. Así yo tengo una amiga Moni: postea y motiva a que sus amigos intenten la vida vegana. Otra amiga, Corinne: trata de que la gente se interese más por la labor artística de mujeres que pintan, escriben, componen y han sido minimizadas por la historia. Una amiga más, Silvia: Invita a la gente a que se sume a las marchas de protesta en contra de los políticos corruptos o en contra de injusticias sociales. Para toda la gente que cree que un colapso industrial y económico se avecina en USA y en el mundo, lo ocurrido el pasado Super Martes puede ser una prueba de que si ocurra. En todos lados menos en USA, la gente puede ver y sentir de lo que se trata Donald Trump. Sin embargo, los norteamericanos (Muchos, no todos) ven a Trump como el único ciudadano valiente y triunfador que habla con la verdad y se atreve a hacer lo que otros no pueden.
Bien, quizá que Trump se haga presidente es el tipo de tragedia que necesitamos para que finalmente decidamos tomar acción y empezar a hacer las cosas diferente. En el caso de los inmigrantes mexicanos, quizá ya sea tiempo que dejemos de ver a USA como la genial tierra de oportunidades y empecemos a voltear a ver a otros países donde se nos aprecie más y donde haya menos racismo. Para los empresarios latinos, quizá sea tiempo de impulsar más el comercio con nuestros vecinos de Sudamérica o con Asia y Europa. Una pared de odio construida a lo largo del Rio Bravo puede ser la gota que derrame el vaso para que los mexicanos nos preocupemos más por resolver más nuestros problemas internos como la falta de productividad, la corrupción y la violencia.
En cierta medida, la violencia quizá se reduzca cuando los narcotraficantes ya no tengan acceso ilimitado al mercado de armas de USA y ya no tengan los grandes clientes que tenían en USA. Pero no caigamos en la visión patriotera bananera de Trump donde nuestros problemas son culpa de los otros y no, de nosotros. Los problemas de México los tenemos que resolver nosotros.
Entonces, si, si los norteamericanos quieren vivir otra vez el sueño americano de 1850 con todo y su “Destino Manifiesto” y su supremacía aria, que así sea. Dejemoslos aislados detrás de su muro. México y muchos países estoy seguro recibirán con los brazos abiertos a todos los norteamericanos que quieran hacer un éxodo de Trumpilandia.
Y si ya muchos de ustedes ya están colapsando en una rabieta, dejenme mostrarles un video divertido del show “Last Week Tonight” show con John Oliver analizando por qué Trump es tan carismático pero tan peligroso. Está en ingles.

For all the people that believe that a collapse is coming in USA and the world, this is just a proof that this might really happen. Everywhere else but in the USA, people can see and feel what Trump is all about. Yet NorthAmericans (most) view Trump as the only Brave Succesful Citizen speaking with the truth and daring to do what others can’t.
Well, maybe Trump becoming president is the kind of tragedy we need to finally take action and start to do things different. In the case of inmigrant Mexicans, maybe is time to stop seeing the USA as the ultimate dream land of opportunities and start to look at other countries where we are more appreciated and where less rascism prevails. For Latino Bussinessmen, that can be the time to start to trade more with our southern Latin neighbors, with Asia and Europe. A hate-wall in the Rio Bravo might be the straw that broke the camels back so we, Mexicans start to worry more about solving by ourselves our internal problems such as lack of productivity, corruption and violence.
In one way, violence might be reduced as Drug Dealers won’t have the access to the colossal gun market from the USA and won’t have anybody to sell their drugs too.
So, yes, if Americans wants to live again their 1850’s American Dream, by becoming again a white supremacist country, so be it. Let them be isolated. Mexico and many countries will open their doors to all the Americans doing an exodus from Trumpland.

More Mexican immigrants have returned to Mexico from the U.S. than have migrated to USA from 2009 to 2014 according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of newly available government data from both countries. This is far from being the real data, but it shows the estimate thrown by both governments.

From 2009 to 2014, 1 million of Mexicans and their families including children born in the USA have left the U.S.A for México according to data from the 2014 Mexican National Survey of Demographic Dynamics (ENADID). U.S. census data for the same period show an estimated 870,000 Mexican nationals left Mexico to go to the U.S.A. a smaller number than the flow of families from the U.S. to Mexico.
We can speculate a lot of why are the reasons of these numbers which are contrary to the popular belief. I will dare to throw the following speculations:
1.- A slow recovery of U.S.A economy has created less attractive opportunities for Mexicans living in the States.
2.- An increased enforcement on deportations done in Obama’s administration.
14% of Mexicans returning to Mexico declare in the survey they have come back because of deportation.
3.- Mexicans’ nostalgia for México and their families made them return after many years living abroad. 61% of the people in the survey declare that.
4.- The view that life is better in the States has changed.
While almost half (48%) of adults in Mexico believe life is better in the U.S.A; a growing share says it is neither better nor worse than life in Mexico. 33% of adults in México say life is just the same in the States than in México.
5.- Mexicans hate to be discriminated.
The speech of politicians such as Donald Trump and the constant discrimination Mexicans and Latinos suffer in the street made some Mexican citizens to realize they want to get out. That happens also with the tourists. In my case, after some bad treatment I got while traveling “In Transit” even with a up-to-date American Visa. I decided to try not to visit again the USA for holidays. There are many countries in the world that are worth to visit.
Happy Revolution Day to my Mexican friends in Mexico. I hope we can stand out to make things better in our country.

Van Francis, Libi y Siri en un auto y sufren un accidente. Se acercan varios curiosos entre ellos, Doña Maxi a ver que sucedió.
Francis comenta “Tengo un morete en la rodilla y me duele.” En seguida Doña Maxi comenta: “Eso no es nada, yo padezco de mis rodillas desde hace 5 años y me duele mucho”
Libi dice: “Yo me pegué en el codo y me duele.” Doña Maxi responde: “Yo me caí y mi codo me duele más que a ti.”
Siri agrega: “Yo tengo un dolor interno que me punza demasiado pero estoy seguro que Doña Maxi ha de tener un dolor más fuerte que el mio porque sólo quiere que la compadezcan a ella.”
Estoy cansado de leer comentarios tipo: “Se indignan por lo que pasó en Paris y se les olvida lo que pasa en México.” Los he visto desde tuits de gente famosa como Fernández Noroña hasta en los comentarios de las condolencias oficiales que mandó Peña Miento por Facebook.
(Entiendan que como pseudo-líder de una nación, Peña tiene que dar ese mensaje aunque no lo sienta)
Los que comentan este tipo de cosas me parece que tienen una visión muy estrecha, un patriotismo bananero muy mal entendido y una mente que no les da para comprender hechos relevantes en una región y hechos relevantes en el planeta. Continue reading “Indignados en México”
