Thor: Ragnarok, Or What It’s Like to Watch the Whole World Cheer As Your Favorite Franchise Is Burned to the Ground

This blog totally summarizes my feelings about the new Thor 3 Trailer. Though I am excited this will be the Thor movie that everybody is going to love.

Well, I certainly underestimated things.

Like the millions of other people around the world, I watched the new Thor: Ragnarok trailer yesterday. However, I watched it just the one time in the morning and didn’t give it a second thought. As the day progressed, my social media feed was inundated with Ragnarok buzz, and by the end of the day just about every single pop culture site had published their mandatory deep dive into every second of the trailer. THR was left struggling to glean some lesson from the trailer’s record-breaking success, deducing that earning 136 million views in 24 hours (the best debut for any Disney movie trailer) probably means people….um….umm…..

Have missed Thor and Hulk since their two-year, post-Age of Ultron absence, minus Thor’s Doctor Strange cameo?

Have really missed Loki since 2013’s The Dark World?

Totally dig that someone finally thought to put Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song”…

Premier, Captain América Civil War.

After a long day, finally the day to see the premiere of Captain America Civil War arrived. Luckily for Mexicans, the film was released a week before its premiere scheduled for May the 6th in USA. The reason: There was a warranty to have a full box office success on the weekend with Mexican Children’s day and the Labor Day. I went with my geek friends and some not so geek. The cinema was cramming despite being midnight. We can even feel the floor at Macroplaza vibrating and it seemed like it will collapse with so many people. The expectations in the film and with the directors, the Russo brothers were very high but fortunately the movie did a good fight.

Ya habían pasado 4 días desde su estreno, y ya estaban fastidiando en las redes sociales con spoilers con la película. Pero no me importaba, cuando llevamos al cine a los niños de la Casa Hogar Vida Nueva a ver Kung Fu Panda 3, yo insistí delante de ellos que teniamos que venir a ver Batman contra Superman, y pues me quise esperar hasta ir con ellos para verla. (De otra forma, hubiera estado en el estreno a media noche como buen Geek que soy)

Kung Fu Panda 3 con los niños de la casa hogar

Sigiloso como la maestra serpiente, Fuerte como la Maestra Tigresa, rápido como el Maestro Grulla y con un corazón como el Maestro Po; Ayer terminé el trabajo temprano en Vallarta Salads para ir a Plaza Caracol y ver Kung Fu Panda 3 con los niños de la Casa Hogar “Vida Nueva” y algunos de los voluntarios del grupo “Corazones Salseros”. Cecy Guillén obtuvo entradas gratis para los niños, por lo que sólo tuvimos que comprar nuestras propias entradas y algunos bocadillos para los niños que en realidad cuestan el doble o más de la entrada de cine. Por suerte el niño al que me tocó cuidar, solo quizo una coca cola y un slushie de uva. Dejé mi mochila amarilla en el mostrador, tomé a mi niño conmigo (cada adulto fue responsable de un niño) y entramos dentro del complejo de cine.

Ayer les platicaba que fuí a ver el Principito y mi amiga Mae me preguntaba si esta película era más para adultos que para niños. Aquí les va mi respuesta y mi reseña tratando de no meter ninguna clase de Spoilers sobre la película pero quizá no podré evitar hacer referencias al libro.
